Animal Evac New Zealand is keen to connect with tertiary providers offering animal care and veterinary studies.
Subject to availability of volunteer guest presenters from Animal Evac New Zealand, we offer a FREE 90 minute talk on “Why animals matter in disaster”. An evidence based and thought provoking talk to inspire students to consider their own preparedness for emergencies and how to better protect animals from disasters too. We have already delivered this talk to numerous tertiary organisations such as WelTec, UCOL and EIT with great reviews.
Where there is sufficient interest from faculty and students, we also offer our one day NZVNA accredited Foundation Course for only $60 per person (student or staff), based on a minimum of 15 attendees, which enables those who complete the course to join Animal Evac New Zealand. This is a great way for new students to engage with a wide range of animal and veterinary professionals and may even lead into inspire them to taken on further study and research into this area. A certificate is provided as part of the Foundation Course.
For the FREE 90 minute talk, all we need is a suitable classroom with access to a computer connected to both a data projector and audio speakers. No certificate is provided as part of the free 90 minute talk.
If you are interested in either the free talk to your students, or the delivery of a foundation course, please contact us.
